Born and raised on Australia’s east coast, now living in Portland, OR, Kiara has always been deeply inspired by her environment. As a working florist and photographer, she learned to connect with her external world in a way that inspired any creative endeavors she undertook. As a writer, she aims to create atmospheric, emotional stories that have a strong sense of place, transporting the reader to a world that can explore complicated emotions with coziness and familiarity.
Currently seeking representation for her novel “What Blooms and What Breaks”, a romantic fantasy with heartfelt themes and a cozy world, Kiara is seeking an agent with an long-term approach to her writing career. She enjoys writing about polarizing topics, with deep themes of politics and injustice through a lens that gives the reader an opportunity to consider the influence that these have in shaping our realities.
When not writing, you can find Kiara in her garden, hosting her closest friends for matcha, reading cuddled up on the couch with her dog or working on a new creative project.
